Patient Participation Groups (PPGs) are based at most GP surgeries and meet on a regular basis to discuss the services on offer and how improvements can be made.
The PPG represents the views of patients to the surgery's doctors and their colleagues. Patient groups consider things such as the quality of care, appointments, and opening times.
If you would like to become a member of your practice's patient group, please contact the practice manager at your surgery - s/he will explain how you can become involved.
Wokingham Area PPG Forum
PPGs can use their voice to influence the health care decisions of the CCG. Each PPG can send representatives to take part in the Wokingham PPG Forum, which is attended by the CCG. The Forum allows for both patient groups and the CCG to raise issues and ideas for discussion and to design patient consultations. The Forum, which meets quarterly, also acts to support patient groups and to share experience and information from practice to practice.
